Forest School session two - Magic sticks!

It was pouring with rain this morning! Lots of children were already wet when they came to school. We 'togged up' before we set off with waterproofs and new wellies!
The road into the forest was covered with deep muddy puddles! We all had fun splashing in them on the walk. (Good job we had new wellies!)

The hill was very slippy today so we had to walk carefully!

We ate our snack quickly as sitting in the rain made us cold

We played the hide and seek 'where are you?' game to get warm. Some children forgot to come back safely so we talked about the rules and how to keep safe.
We collected 'magic' sticks and practiced tying a reef knot. We decorated our magic sticks with beautiful objects we found on the forest floor.

 That was really hard work!
 We enjoyed our lunch.

After lunch we played one more game and then it was time to go home!

Forest School session one - Into the woods!

We took the bus to the woodland area where we have Forest School. It's quite a journey!
The sun was shining - it was a beautiful warm Autumn day. We took our coats off and hung them up on the trees.
We built a sitting circle for talking, eating and being together.

We played hide and seek to help us to learn how to keep safe in the forest.

We balanced on and jumped over logs and branches.
We made special forest friendship bracelets and we all made up new forest names!
It was a long walk back to the bus. We were all tired but happy.
